Woohoo! You’re having a baby!
Huge congratulations, how are you feeling? I hope your pregnancy has been kind to you, and that you’re feeling amazing. If not (I know I didn’t) then I hope your morning sickness/SPD/bloating/other side effects bugger off very soon.
First things first, I am so glad you’re planning a maternity shoot. I didn’t with my first baby, and I regret it. (Need a laugh? Check out my terrible bump pics here!)
So now I’ve convinced you not to make the same mistake I did, which maternity session is right for you?
Long grasses and golden sunsets make this a classic for a reason. Borrow a beautiful frock from my client wardrobe (or wear one of your own!) and let’s head to the park.
2. Beach Bump
More of a sun, sea and sand kinda chick? Maternity sessions at the beach are always a favourite…just be prepared to get wet!
3. Sunset Skin
I’m always going to encourage you to show some skin! I didn’t, with either pregnancy – not even in iphone snaps at home. And I reeeeeeally wish I had…soon I’ll be sharing my (absolutely terrible) iPhone pictures from back before I owned a camera!
Whether you choose to hitch up your dress, don a bikini or a kimono….
…or whether you’re confident to bare it all, I am absolutely here for it!
4. Studio Sessions
The Surry Hills Studio is the most beautiful space with perfect light. Stocked to the brim with beautiful, maternity-friendly dresses, kimonos and knits for you to borrow, it’s the ideal space if you want a studio look and feel to your shots, or if you want to bare some skin in privacy.
It also comes with endless cups of tea and whatever playlist will make you feel like an absolute goddess!
So which maternity shoot will you choose?!
