WHAT TO expect from a shoot with stacey rolfe photography

If you're looking for moody images, then I'm not the photographer for you!  My sessions are ALL about having fun.  Your gallery will be full of smiles, belly laughs, and love.

I am all about capturing you as you are. This is not a magazine shoot, and you are not models.  

For me, a hair out of place doesn't ruin an image. I will not be micro adjusting your angles or constantly tweaking your clothing. Because when I'm behind the lens, I'm focussing on making sure you have an amazing time!

I want you to relax, connect with your partner and your kids, and be in the moment. And when you get your beautiful gallery, I want you to focus on the smiles and the love, nothing else. 

But I will give you direction

Okay...very limited posing.

We will usually start the session with a smiling-to-the-camera snap (I call it 'The Grandparent Shot') while you're all feeling stiff and a bit awkward anyway.  But after that, we just start playing. 

Newborn and maternity shoots will generally be more directed than family shoots.  But in all sessions, my aim is to capture natural moments, relaxed movements, and authentic smiles.

I'm here to press pause on life as it is right now.  All the beautiful chaos.  We all have our insecurities (trust me, I'm right there with you) but we mustn't let that stop us from capturing our family before they grow up any more.  I'm going to show you how your family see you.  Beautiful, just the way you are.

ENERGY

No point beating about the bush, I'm an extroverted extrovert! I love a chat, I'll laugh with your kids, I'll tell silly jokes...and I'm going to ask you to do the same.  To get your kids laughing, sometimes you have to be silly.  So expect me to ask you to dance like a monkey - and commit to the role!  Your session will be a bit of a workout - throwing your kids in the air is excellent exercise! I won't leave you high and dry, don't worry!  I will direct you throughout the session, and suggest plenty of games (all my favourites are on the blog!).  You will never be left wondering what to do, but the direction I give you is all aimed at creating a natural-looking gallery, full of movement.
